Lucy Topsom

Lucy Topsom VPAC
Practice Manager

I began my career with CVP in 1989 as an Evening Receptionist at the Stile Lane Surgery by working 2 hours duty. I had previously worked as an MD’s PA in London and it soon became obvious that I had a wealth of experience and a number of office skills that CVP could make use of. I became Wymondham Practice Manager in 1994.

I have seen a lot of changes over the years, I was very proud to be involved with the new surgery being planned and built back in 2002, I even received the phone call offering the land and accompanied Ian Jackson to the SNDC meeting when the plans were approved.
I helped on the day we moved back in December 2002 into our new building from Stile Lane – a day I shall never forget and feel so proud that I helped to put this building on the map, and to know that it works so well.

I achieved my VPAC certificate in 2003 which is a Veterinary Practice Administration Certificate and around the same time I also attended Easton College where I went on an intensive training course where I attained OCR Levels 1,2 & 3 Diplomas in Text Processing with Distinctions. I was proud to be presented by TV’s Helen McDermott with the Eastern Region Student of the Year Award from over 750 college students chosen from across the UK. Due to my award, I even had my 5 minutes of fame on Anglia News.

I am also the Human Recourses and Health and Safety Co-ordinator, Fire Marshall and hold the First Aid at Work Certificate for this Branch.
